1. Wash your hands on entering the home.
Make it a rule that everyone who walks into your home immediately washes his/her hands. This should also include guests (if you have any).
2. Disinfect frequently touched areas regularly.
It is important to wipe down high-touch areas such as doorknobs, handrails, drawer handles, light switches and other objects such as remote controls and gaming controls, with disinfectant wipes on a daily basis.
3. Always remove shoes at the door.
Your shoes will accumulate a lot of dirt and germs when worn outside your home. To prevent this dirt and these germs from infiltrating your home, make it a habit to remove your shoes before entering your home. This will also ensure that your floor stays clean longer!
4. Change your clothes.
It is a good idea to change your clothes once you get home .The reason for this is that your clothing can attract germs and dirt when you are out and about. Keep your dirty clothes in a separate basket.
5. Keep your personal items clean.
Anything that you handle several times a day – your keys, cell phone, water bottle, swipe cards etc., are great places for germs and viruses to hide. It is advisable to wipe these down everyday, especially if someone else has handled them. Your cellphone, being one of your most used personal asset, should be wiped with a disinfectant on a regular basis.
6. Be vigilant against service people.
Electricians, plumbers, cable repair technicians and other service persons frequently visit a number of households during the course of a day to carry out their business. They can carry germs with them from place to place. While they may have their stringent safety protocols in place, you still need to be vigilant. Ensure they wear masks, gloves and disposable booties when in your home, and carefully wipe down all of their contact surfaces.
